Few days and will be Adelaide’s third birthday and we rock it. Goodbye diaper.

I know, you’re wondering which magic spell we cast to get such a miracle. There’s no Abracadabra. Any Bibbidi Bobbidi Bu. It’s all about wait and support your child.

Is been like this for Adelaide.

I spent months to try to remove the diaper, but something was wrong. I probably transmitted her anxiety and kids can feel it straight away. Instead of support her, I screamed at her if she peed on the floor, because in that period I was breast-feeding and I couldn’t be able to clean up immediately.

Perhaps I wasn’t sure myself at the beginning. Also moving here in Nashville influenced. Then my husband, that has more experience than me with kids, actually, he has more patient than me with kids, tried the game strategy.

“C’mon let’s see who arrives first at the bathroom” used to say Andrea in the early morning. They used to race to reach the bathroom also after breakfast. And so on, every hour.

After that Adelaide peed, we used to applause and cheer. Also Ginevra clapped her hands! Even wash hands can become a funny game. “Wash wash” sang Adelaide while playing with the bubbles.

The biggest problem (in every sense) was the poo. After have been pooped in the diaper or in the underwear she was like: “Mommy poo!!!” Yeah thank you honey….

Since we moved in the new house we bought a “royal potty” for poop. We didn’t really used it at all.

Then last weekend, I don’t know what happened inside Adelaide’s brain. Maybe because of the heat, she asked to don’t use the diaper and I accomplished her.

Inside me I was cheering and I was doing the “ola”. But I will never tell her know

Are passed just few days I know, but the kid is increasingly convinced to don’t use the diaper anymore. We bought a beautiful Frozen underwear instead, she loves it! She doesn’t use the diaper even at night time. My little girl decided to don’t use it never again.

Serena mammadalprimosguardo always told me, the best age to remove the diaper is 3 years. Kids talk or let us know what they need. They are motivated and also parents are: you know something about saving?

Now I want to know your experience. At what age did you definitely removed the diaper to your children? How did you do?
